‘Sex and the City 2’ Premieres in New York

The first time around, the big screen version of the hit TV series “Sex and the City” grossed more than US $415 million worldwide. So naturally, Sarah Jessica Parker was all about playing Carrie Bradshaw the second time around in the big screen sequel, “Sex and the City 2” which premiered May 24th in New York City.

Director and writer Michael Patrick King said the movie is all about fun, friendship and fashion. I mean I personally trust him and am so pumped to go see it myself. I don’t think King will let us down, because he hasn’t thus far. Love the beautiful ladies of Sex & The City.

Cleveland Cavaliers Fire Coach Mike Brown

It is official, Cavaliers’ Coach Mike Brown is fired. He was let go right before a midnight deadline Sunday night because of his inability to win a NBA championship in his five years coaching. Brown getting fired right before this deadline was so Cleveland could avoid having to pay him his $4.5 million salary for this upcoming season.

Owner Dan Gilbert states “After a long and deep analysis of all of the factors that led to the disappointing early ends to our playoff runs over the past two seasons, we concluded that it was time for the Cavaliers to move in a different direction.”

Ouch. Sorry Cleveland, first Lebron and now Coach Brown ..is it time to find a new team to root for?

M.I.A. Praises Madge, Goes After GaGa Again!

In a recent interview with NY Times, M.I.A. praised and spoke so very highly of Madonna. This is obviously understandable, because who could deny how amazing Madonna truly is. However, M.I.A. then felt the need to continue on with the interiew, bashing Lady Gaga. And this is definitely not the first time M.I.A. felt the need to speak down about Gaga. Listen, we accept M.I.A.’s crazy personality, but why does it always have to come to bashing Gaga? Here’s a little clip of the interview:

“With our video, we were really copying ‘Telephone.’ Both our videos are road movies. We kill people, and they kill people. They start out in a prison, and we start out in a squat, hunting people down. I can’t talk about GaGa anymore. All I’ll say is, it’s upsetting when babies say ga-ga now. It used to be innocent. Now, they’re calling her name. You can’t really say that GaGa is culturally a change. Madonna was truly unique.”

M.I.A. Video: “Born Free” Too Violent for YouTube

Indie superstar’s new clip is too realistically violent for YouTube. British postmodern pop artist M.I.A. is responsible for her share of thought-provoking music, but her new video may be the most challenging piece she’s worked on to date.

The clip, for “Born Free,” is a short film by Romain Gavras, soundtracked by M.I.A.’s song. Gavras’ imagery is stark, realistic and horrifying: In it, a military team enters a housing project, violently raiding individual apartments, brutally beating terrified residents. The team rounds up all the project’s redheaded residents, throws them on a bus and drives them to the desert to be executed.
