Phillies are back in Philadelphia today for their 2010 home opener.

Phillies fans gather outside Citizens Bank Park on Monday morning for the start of the 2010 baseball season. These fans are hoping to purchase standing room tickets as soon as the box office opens.

After making their best start to a season in 17 years, the Phillies are back in Philadelphia today for their 2010 home opener.

Temperatures should be in the upper 60s under sunny skies for the 3:07 p.m. start for the game at Citizens Bank Park between the 5-1 Phillies and the 3-3 Washington Nationals.

Herb Magee, Philadelphia University’s head basketball coach who recently broke the record for the most wins in men’s NCAA history, will throw out the ceremonial opening pitch along with Bill Mayer of Modell’s Sporting Goods.

An opening day block party is set to begin at noon on Citizens Bank Way and all fans will receive a 2-foot-by-3-foot replica of the 2009 National League Pennant that Phils manager Charlie Manuel will raise today in center field.

The game is sold out but fans started lining up during the night in the hopes of buying standing room tickets.
